Alaskan Sea Kayaking
Sea kayaking is one of the favorite activities aboard Alaska small boat cruises. Getting into a kayak means getting down to and even a little below the level of the water, where you’ll be even closer to floating ice, frolicking otters and cascading waterfalls. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or have never even seen a kayak, you’ll find hours of fun and excitement when you climb into one from the comfort of our swim step.
Our Kayaks
The Dream Catcher normally carries a collection of 9 Necky single and tandem ocean Kayaks. These kayaks are top of the line and are perfect for the conditions you'll encounter on your Alaska small boat cruise. Never been kayaking before? No Problem. We'll help get you squared away with some pointers and getting in and out of kayaks from the boat is a snap thanks to our aft swim step. If you're a little new to kayaking, we'll help assess your needs and fit you with the proper equipment.
Tandem Kayaks for Couples, Pairs
Tandem (double) kayaks are a great way to share an amazing kayaking experience with another person. You'll work together to propel your kayak gently through the water at your own pace. Tandems are great for younger paddlers or less confident kayakers that may not want to try by themselves. Whether you're on a family cruise or enjoying a romantic getaway, you'll want to try a tandem kayak.
Places to Kayak
There will be no shortage of epic locations to put the kayaks in the water. From the iceberg strewn waters of Prince William Sound to the wide open and wild shores of the Gulf of Alaska there's always a good place to paddle. Kayaks are also a great way to get to shore for exploring adventures and picking berries. Wildlife viewing can also be great from kayaks, as they are very unobtrusive and can allow close encounters.

"I couldn't get enough kayaking in during the trip. Although I had no kayaking experience to speak of I took to the water like a fish in the single kayak provided aboard the Dream Catcher. You'd be amazed at how different the scenery is from water level."
